15 Weeks

I can't believe I am already 15 weeks.  Another 5 weeks and I'll be halfway done.
Crazy how fast this is going!  Here are the first belly pictures.

Don't look at the hair!  My hair stylist has been on maternity leave so I have an appointment set up for tomorrow which is her first day back!

Here is baby's first gift from Celeste who works with Josh as a dispatcher.

Here is baby's second gift from the Schossows.  This is more like it!

Heartbeat!

We had a doctors' appointment yesterday and were able to hear the baby's heartbeat!  It was the most amazing thing ever!!!  All the ladies at work told me they cried when they first heard the heartbeat but all I could do was SMILE :)  We did have a little drama at the appointment.  Here is the story:

Josh had to work at 5 and our appointment was at 4 so I told him that I have never gotten in on time so he didn't have to rush to get there.  I ended up getting in right away so had to text him to hurry up.

In the mean time, Josh had been called in to work early to transfer an inmate to Sioux City.  He told them he couldn't take anyone to Sioux City as he was going to the doctor with me but told him that he could come in to take calls at 2 if someone else could take the inmate to Sioux City.  He ended up not getting a call until 3:55 which was 3 miles west of town.  He did end up getting to the clinic on time but while we were waiting for the doctor, he got a call from a detective that he had been trying to get a hold of all day.  He ended up taking the call and stepping outside.

While he was outside the doctor came in and asked me all the routine questions.  Josh still had not come back in so Dr. Vandelune sent his nurse out to find him while he got the doppler ready.  The nurse came back and said she couldn't find him so I told Dr. V to go ahead that he probably got called away.  The minute Dr. V put the doppler on my stomach you could hear the heartbeat.  He even said that baby was moving around.  The heart rate was 164 bpm.  Dr. V then sent the nurse out one more time to find Josh but came back saying she couldn't find him.  Just as Dr.V had everything cleaned up, Josh walked in so we ended up getting to hear the heartbeat again!

While Josh was outside on the phone, a lady came frantically up to him asking him to help find her grandson.  Josh had to tell her to slow done because he couldn't understand anything she was saying.  He ended up telling the detective that he would call him back and ended up calling the city police to help as he wanted to get back in to hear the heartbeat.  They did end up finding the boy as the lady was supposed to to pick him up after school but had forgotten.

So in the end we both got to hear the heartbeat!

14 Weeks

These last few weeks have been pretty tough.  I have not felt well.  Certain foods, like Chinese and red peppers, have not agreed with me.  It makes trying any food a little nerve racking since I don't know how my stomach will handle it.  I really haven't had any motivation to do anything so our house has struggled a little.  I am hoping I will get my energy back soon!  I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday so hopefully we'll be able to hear baby's heartbeat :-)  It is hard to believe that I am already in the 2nd trimester. Baby will be here before we know it!  Hopefully in these next couple of weeks we will start working on the baby's room, but that means we will have to get the basement done so a few things can be moved down there.
Here is my favorite picture of my beautiful bridesmaids and I!

SNOW DAY

It is snowing like crazy outside, which means I get to stay inside and catch up on laundry, cleaning, and going through wedding pictures!  That's right, I didn't have to go to work today :)  Josh wasn't to pleased because he still had to go.  I did get instructions that if I wanted to leave I would have to shovel the driveway.  I think I'll stay home!  Hope you all enjoy your Monday.

Last night we got together with some friends.  It was fun to see all the updates to Ali and Kyle's place plus to see Sheena and Ben(who once again had to drive back to Sycamore, IL in the snow).  The boys played farkel while the girls played Just Dance 2.  It was quite entertaining :)

Happy New Year!

Yes, we know it is already the 9th of January and we are just now saying HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We have been busy getting back into the swing of work and all activities that have been on hold.  I, Amy, have been feeling pretty well but the week after Christmas was not so good.  I have now learned that I always have to have some sort of snack every couple of hours.  It tends to hit more late morning and then again late afternoon.  I am just glad that it is not worse then this and hopefully it will stay that way.  I am 11 weeks as of yesterday and have a doctors appointment the end of January to hopefully hear the heartbeat!
We hope you all have a wonderful and happy New Year!
Josh and I got Terry and Deanna a new German Shepard for Christmas.  They have yet to name the little pup but Maverick(the big dog) does not know what to think of her.
We went out to the farm to have supper with my family and while we were playing games, Levi was playing his own version of UNO.  He liked eating the cards and then dropping them on the floor.  It amazes me that he will wear his hat.  He loves it!
