Pool Hunk

We spent time with Nana and Papa in Sioux City today.  Josh wanted to sit in the hot tub(which was only about 96 degrees), so we decided to see what Ean would do.  He LOVED it, which makes me very excited for this summer!  We live up the hill from the pool so will spend lots of time there. 

9 months old

Is it really possible that we have a 9 month old? It sure has gone by fast! Ean is now walking along the furniture and is quit fast! He loves looking out our big windows and gets very excited when he sees something he likes. He loves books, which makes mama very happy. He has 6 teeth now. Ean loves eating his puffs and fresh fruit. He is such a content little boy who is always smiling and laughing. He is quit a mamas boy too! Warms my heart!

Update...

Sorry it has been so long! Our little boy has seemed to grow into a crawling machine. He is into everything! He especially loves daddy's playstation. Ean is also pulling himself up to the window, couch, coffee table, and anything else he can get his hands on. The Easter bunny came early and gave him a musical table. He is really into music!
Ean now has 4 teeth. His fangs came in before his top middle ones so he looks pretty funny. He is also starting to get a little wave to his hair. It will be interesting to see if it will look like grandpa David's when he was little.
Ean turned 8 months old last Monday. We can hardly believe it! It has gone to fast!

Teeth

Teeth have arrived.  Ean's bottom teeth have decided to poke through.  He has taken this very well.  There has been lots of slobber and a few fussy outbursts but otherwise has taken it well.  We sure hope all of his teeth come in this way.  

Big Boy

Ean is now sitting all by himself.  He loves to have all of his toys around him so he can pick whatever he wants to play with.  He even gets up on his hands and knees to rock himself back and forth.  We will have a crawler soon.



Happy Valentine's Day

6 months old

We can't believe we have a 6 month old!  He is such a joy :)  Ean is such a mommy's boy, but sure does love when daddy throws him up in the air.  We started giving him veggies and fruit along with his cereal.  He LOVES it!  He will open is mouth when he is ready for a bit and then will say yum when he eats it.  It is the cutest thing ever!  We had his pictures taken by Breath of Life Photography in Storm Lake.  Stephanie did a wonderful job and it has been hard deciding which ones to enlarge.  These are just a few of my favorites!

Ean tried cereal for the first time tonight.  He was not a fan of it!  We'll try again tomorrow night.



5 months old



Happy New Year

Ean and I spent New Year's eve at our friends, Ben and Emily.  Josh had to work but was able to stop by a couple of times.  Ean enjoyed playing with Ryan (he was born the day after him) and Evan, who is 18 months.  Ean even woke up in time to ring in the New Year with us.

Ean and I then went to my mom's today to eat and play games.  Josh was not feeling well so decided to stay home.  We ended the night with me reading a book to Ean and daddy distracting him, while taking a picture.

Tiny Tot

We had Ean's 4 month well baby check and immunizations yesterday.  He weighed in at 14 pounds 1 ounce and is in the 16th percentile for weight.  He is 26 inches long and is in the 63rd percentile for length.  Dr VandeLune couldn't believe that he was eating 5 oz every 2.5-3 hours and only weighed 14 lbs.  I told him that he is constantly moving and does not like to be still.  He was not worried about the weight but said we could start feeding him cereal as a filler.  We will be starting that next week when he turns 5 months.  It was a nice visit with Dr VandeLune as we had not seen him since October, so it was reassuring that all was going well.  Ean did well with the 3 shots and liquid he had to get.  He only cried when they pricked him and that was it.  He did fall asleep when we got home but when he woke up, he was not a happy camper.  He cried bloody murder, wouldn't eat or take his paci, so I finally put him in the bath and it was the calmest I have ever seen him.  I was then able to feed him and he did pretty well the rest of the evening.  He was restless during the night so I got up with him more then usual.

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas!!  We started the morning at Jullota(it is a swedish tradition at our church).  We then went to my mom's in Paullina.  We had a wonderful breakfast of egg bakes, cinnamon rolls, orange rolls,  and monkey bread.  Once again, Ean got spoiled with presents.  We left at 2 to go to Sioux City to spend the rest of the day with Josh's family.  It was the first time meeting Delaney and she is a beauty!  You can definitely tell her and Ean are cousins.  Ean loved opening his presents.

Christmas Eve

We spent the evening at my brother Mark's house in Primghar.  We enjoyed my dad's homemade eggnogg and many goodies!!  Ean was very spoiled and got many books and clothes.  Ean did very well with his first Christmas celebration.
